Caregivers of older adults are the focus of this program. The Agency assists families in assessing their needs when taking care of older relatives who are 60 years of age or older. Caregivers can include spouses, relatives, neighbors, or friends.
Benefits counseling where caregivers are informed of benefits that are available to them. Through a cost-sharing approach, families may receive up to $600 per month to help them with out-of-pocket expenses ranging from respite care, reimbursement for supplies to care for the older adults.
Modifications can be made to the home such as installing stair climbs, building ramps, or modifying the bathroom so that the care receiver can remain at home.
An important feature of the Caregiver program is that it allows the caregiver to choose the service most needed to help care for the older relative at home.
